Governing Board members of the Fountain Hills Unified School District work hard to maintain high levels of excellence in education. Dr. C.T. Wright, President
Dr. Wright, founder and chairman of The Light of Hope Institute, moved to Fountain Hills with his wife Mary in 1999. He began his career in education as a teacher in his hometown of Social Circle, Georgia. Dr. Wright also held professorships and administrative positions at several colleges and universities including assistant provost at Eastern Washington University and president of Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. This educator and historian is a member of numerous professional, community, and civic boards including serving as president emeritus of the International Foundation for Education and Self Help. He earned a Ph.D. from Boston University, M. A. from Clark Atlanta University, a B. S. from Fort Valley State University, and a Doctor of Humane Letters from Mary Holmes College. Dr. Wright’s term on the governing board runs through December 2010.

Mrs. Melanie Anderelli, Vice President
Melanie Anderelli moved to Fountain Hills in 1999 with her husband Larry and their two sons who attend FHHS. Prior to moving she was employed for 11 years by a professional liability insurance company in California where she gained experience in personnel management, corporate finance, regulatory compliance and facilities management. Recently Mrs. Anderelli has been a substitute teacher in the Fountain Hills Unified School District, member of the newly formed Supporters of Gifted Education and is the committee chair for local BSA Troop 343. Mrs. Anderelli earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University in Psychology. Mrs. Anderelli’s term will run through December of 2010.

Mrs. Helen Howard, Board Member
Mrs. Helen Howard is a graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. She is also a graduate of the School of Electron Microscopy at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Albany, New York. Mrs. Howard holds a Master of Science Degree in Biology from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She has served on numerous councils and committees in FHUSD. Mrs. Howard has been a Board Member since May 2002. Mrs. Howard is a homemaker, has been married 23 years to her husband Mike, and has four children. One child is a sophomore at Notre Dame, one is a senior at FHHS, one is a sophomore at FHHS, and the youngest is a seventh grader at Fountain Hills Middle School. Mrs. Howard’s term will run through December 2010.

Mrs. Patricia McNett-Green, Board Member
Ms. Green’s term will run through December 2012.

Mr. Dana Saar, Board Member
Mr. Saar is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Masters in Career and Technical Education from Northern Arizona University. He is a member of the State Board of Education’s Professional Practices Advisory Committee, and a REALTOR® with Sonoran Lifestyle Real Estate. He is single and has lived in Fountain Hills since 1982. Mr. Saar served on the Town of Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning Commission for four years prior to being elected to the Fountain Hills Unified School District Governing Board in 1995. He received the All Arizona School Board award in 2006. His third Governing Board term runs through December 2012.
