Regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, at 6:30 p.m. in the Governing Board room at the District Administrative Center, 16000 East Palisades Blvd., Fountain Hills. The board welcomes the public to attend its meetings.

Meet Our Governing Board

The FHUSD Governing Board takes great pride in the accomplishments of our students and wants to recognize the achievement of significant educational excellence in areas of academics, sports, extracurricular activities, leadership or other criteria that clearly identifies the individual(s) as having achieved an important accomplishment. If you know of a student whom is worthy of this special recognition, please help us by filling out the FHUSD Student Recognition of Excellence Nomination Form and returning it to the governing board secretary.


Governing Board Members

Governing Board members of the Fountain Hills Unified School District work hard to maintain high levels of excellence in education. The Governing Board sets all district policies and has final authority over all school district business. If you would like to e-mail our board members, click on their name below. So, now...meet our district's Board Members:


CT WrightDr. C.T. Wright, President
Dr. Wright is the founder and chairman of The Light of Hope Institute. He moved to Fountain Hills with his wife Mary in 1999. He began his career in education as a teacher in his hometown of Social Circle, Georgia. Dr. Wright also held professorships and administrative positions at several colleges and universities, including assistant provost at Eastern Washington University and president of Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. This educator and historian is a member of numerous professional, community, and civic boards including serving as president emeritus of the International Foundation for Education and Self Help. He earned a Ph.D. from Boston University, M. A. from Clark Atlanta University, a B. S. from Fort Valley State University, and a Doctor of Humane Letters from Mary Holmes College. Dr. Wright’s term on the governing board runs through December 2016.


Helen Howard

Mrs. Helen Howard, Vice President
Mrs. Helen Howard is a graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. She is also a graduate of the School of Electron Microscopy at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Albany, New York. Mrs. Howard holds a Master of Science Degree in Biology from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She is currently pursuing a degree in Nursing. Mrs. Howard has served on numerous councils and committees in FHUSD and has been a Board Member since May 2002. Mrs. Howard is a wife and mother of four children (three graduates and one current student at FHHS). Mrs. Howard’s term will run through December 2014.


Melanie Anderelli

Mrs. Melanie Anderelli, Board Member
Melanie Anderelli moved to Fountain Hills in 1999 with her husband Larry and their two sons, both of whom are graduates of FHHS. Prior to moving, she was employed for 11 years by a professional liability insurance company in California. In Fountain Hills she became a stay-at-home mom, classroom and community volunteer, and part-time substitute teacher. She is currently employed as the office manager/paralegal for a local law firm. Mrs. Anderelli earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Western Illinois University. She was appointed to the board in 2005 and elected to a four-year term in 2006 and 2010. Mrs. Anderelli’s term expires December 31, 2014.


Jill Reed

Mrs. Jill Reed, Board Member
Mrs. Jill Reed and her husband Chad moved to Fountain Hills in 2003. However, she has lived in Arizona for the past 30 years, and she is a graduate of Scottsdale’s Saguaro High School. Mrs. Reed is the owner of Accusource, a data entry company, and has been self-employed since 1996. She is a long time volunteer for the Fountain Hills school district, serving the past six years as vice president and president of the PTO board. Mrs. Reed is the mother of two children: Katie, who is a seventh grader at FHMS, and Hunter, who attends fourth grade at Four Peaks Elementary. Her term runs through December 2016.
